McKinlee Covey has been a leader in education for over a decade. As a Harvard-educated professional, she has done it all, from teaching preschool to college courses. As a high school teacher for many years, McKinlee feels passionate about helping teenagers unleash their potential.
After graduating from BYU with a degree in English and German education, she received a master’s degree in Human Development & Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education – where she focused specifically on adolescent development. An avid fan of literature and languages, McKinlee has taught German and English classes and specialized Film, Public Speaking, Leadership, and History intensives, which she also created. She even taught a course on fishing once!
In addition to her work in the classroom, McKinlee served as a coach and an athletic director, helping establish new sports programs while enhancing and elevating existing ones. As a department head and mentor teacher she was responsible for training her team and individual teachers. She has also beenrecognized for being an extraordinary educator and coach by her schools and her community.
Outside of her work in education, McKinlee is also an accomplished writer – having co-authored Trust & Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash Greatness in Others. She is also a contributing writer for ConantLeadership and works on curriculum development in her spare time. Her greatest joy comes from seeing her students succeed. McKinlee currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she continues her work as an educator, speaker, and mentor.
