Student-led Legacy Showcase at Martin Petitjean Elementary

“The Leader in Me has created this student empowerment. We started this school transformation in the summer of 2009, and we have added layers every year since that time. Our little leaders (grades 1-3), learn and live Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. They maintain learning portfolios in which they track their learning data and set goals. Students are in charge of all major functions at the school: announcements, assemblies, morning mail pickup, data updates, etc. Through the Leader in Me process, our staff works to tap into the leadership potential of every child on campus, focusing on the whole child, and helping them to be the best version of themselves possible.”
